In the 1910s, Hollywood experienced its early years in the 1910s. The movie industry was a brand new endeavour. Thus, the kind of acting that was done in Hollywood is not exactly what we know today. Despite some huge limitations, the celebrities of that era still influenced the masses in a certain way.

Some of these celebrities include Mary Dressler who is popularly known as 'the queen of silent movies";. Interestingly, Mary Dressler started acting even before she reached the age of 15. Due to her epic roles in the acting world, Mary earned recognition and became among the standout actresses of that era. She even proceeded with her career into the sound age. Although not considered one of the most beautiful, Mary Dressler exhibited exceptional acting talent.

Hedda Hopper (1885-1966)

She made a brand with her confrontational column, ";Hedda Hopper's Hollywood."; Hedda is best remembered for revealing the names of suspected columnists in the Hollywood Blacklist era. The feat made Hopper earn a place among the most powerful and feared figures in the film industry.

Beyonce, who's famously known as ";Queen B";, is considered the undisputed music industry star. Beyonce has acted in many successful movies over the decades. The arenas are always packed to capacity; Beyonce's remarkable dancing abilities have continued to amaze her fans. The musician strongly advocates for active female participation in many different fields. For more than 20 years now, the musician has been a renowned household name.

Mabel Normand

Mabel Normand generally acted in comedy movies. Mabel starred alongside some comedy legends like Charles Chaplin and is considered one of the most prominent faces of the 1910 films. At this time in film history, women were not considered to be worthy of acting roles. Nevertheless, Mabel successfully weaved her way in the film industry, starring in several comedies.

Mary Pickford is considered a unique film actress; she has many movies credited to her name. Mary once earned $10,000 per week- this was considered a record feat. At that time, actresses were not so well paid; regardless, Pickford changed it all. The actor starred in about 50 films within the decade, eventually becoming among the most identifiable TV personalities. Mary was fondly known as America's sweetheart.

Oprah Winfrey (1954-Present)

Oprah Winfrey is a famous TV host, actress, producer and philanthropist; she's a highly successful all-around media personality who has revolutionized the daytime TV talk show format with her groundbreaking ";Oprah Winfrey Show."; The hugely successful show was nationally syndicated for an impressive 25 seasons- from 1986 to 2011. The Oprah Winfrey Show's wild success catapulted Oprah to become one of the richest women in the media industry.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie was not regarded as such a big star- not until she took over a prominent role in the ";Wolf of Wall Street."; At the time other actresses faded into obscurity, Margot went on to acquire greater prominence. She took other lead roles alongside other famous actors, including Will Smith; Margot indeed became a massive star with many accolades to her credit. She also played a prominent role as Harley Quinn in the comic book Suicide Squad. Margot put up such a sterling performance that the fans were quite excited.

Lupita Nyongo

Lupita features as the first top-rated African-American actress; she first rose to prominence in her acting career when she put up a remarkable performance in the award-winning ";12 years a slave."; Lupita has since followed that sterling act with other exceptional performances in films like ";Us"; and ";Black Panther.";

Emma Watson

The actress who assumes the role of the much-beloved Hermione Granger in Harry Potter is none other than Emma Watson. Of course, after Harry Potter Emma Watson drifted from her role as Hermione Granger, moving on to curve other niches. Emma eventually starred in several successful films, including Little Women. To most fans, however, Emma Watson will be remembered forever as Hermione.

Euzhan Palcy (1958-Present)

Euzhan Palcy was the first notable black film director that the major Hollywood Studio (MGM) successfully produced. Palcy later became the only woman director for the successful Marlon Brando (she actually urged Marlon to get out of retirement). Palcy also won accolades as the first black to direct an actor all the way to an Oscar nomination.

Pola Negri

Pola Negri was born in Poland, later excelling as a stage actress before moving to America. She continued to shine despite the challenges of the World War. As the rumour mills whispers had it, Pola was suspected of having a romantic relationship with the famous Charles Chaplin.
