Carrie Fisher may have become a pop icon after she played Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" films, but that's not the only role she ever played. Now after her death, we remember her for other roles as well.
The late Carrie Fisher will always be associated with Star Wars' princess Leia Organa. "She's me and I'm her and it's kind of a Möbius strip," said the actress. "I carry her around and I know her better than anybody else and we wear the same clothes a lot of times. She's mine." But Leia is not the only character Fisher has interpreted. Here are some of her best film and TV roles:
The Blues Brothers
(1980) One of Fisher's most memorable roles is as the maniac ex-girlfriend of John Belushi's "Joliet" Jake. As she played this hilarious role, she had to hunt down the Blues Brothers while giving an amazing speech about being left at the altar before being seduced by Jake.

Mystery Woman: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.
Jake: No, I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I... I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in front out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts! IT WASN'T MY FAULT, I SWEAR TO GOD!
(Elwood covers his head in anticipation of more gunfire, Jake removes his sunglasses to make a wordless appeal, and the Mystery Woman visibly softens)
Mystery Woman: Oh, Jake... Jake, honey...

Another memorable role is as Marie in When Harry Met Sally (1989). She played the role of the spunky best friend of Meg Ryan's Sally. Fisher had a Rolodex filled with men's names. She is famous for responding to the news of Sally's breakup with, "You mean Joe's available?"
On Catastrophe (2015), Fisher was Rob's mother, Mia, in the Amazon comedy. She was a bit unstable and foul-mouthed character, who would call her son, who lived in London, from America, sometimes at 4 a.m. her time. Most of the time it was to give him unsolicited advice.
Her co-star Sharon Horgan wrote on Instagram that Fisher "was the most generous, fun, gifted, smart, kind, funny, funny, funny person I've ever met."
One of her most memorable cameos was in 30 Rock (2007). Fisher guest-starred on the second season of the NBC sitcom as a feminist comedy writer invited by Tina Fey's Liz Lemon invites to write for TGS. Her ideas were too controversial for Liz Lemon, which led to the famous quote "Never go with a hippie to a second location."
Tina Fey's wrote this statement after Fisher's demise: "Carrie Fisher meant a lot to me. Like many women my age, Princess Leia occupies about sixty percent of my brain at any given time. But Carrie's honest writing and her razor-sharp wit were an even greater gift. I feel so lucky that I got to meet her. I'm very sad she is gone."
